Why I’m passionate about patient engagement: “Winning the Patient Engagement Leader Award is a significant honor that reinforces my unwavering commitment to advancing equitable care and ensuring optimal health for all individuals, especially underserved populations. This recognition validates the hard work and strategic initiatives I have spearheaded at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (and previous organizations) where I have developed frameworks and coalitions aimed at reducing disparities in cancer, and overall healthcare. By coalescing diverse stakeholders and advocating for policies that prioritize patient-centered approaches, I have also strived to break down barriers to access and representation in clinical trials. This award inspires me to continue my efforts in fostering inclusive practices and promoting health equity, ultimately improving the lives of those affected by cancer and enhancing the overall healthcare landscape.”
