We’re spotlighting the most important part of our work here at 1nHealth—our team. These are the folks who bring the energy, the ideas, and the spark to everything we do.
Up today: Meet Liz Pacheco, our Patient Coordinator who brings empathy and expertise to every interaction with patients and their families.
Discover the most fulfilling aspect of Liz’s job, what might surprise you about her day-to-day, and much more.
What's your current role at 1nHealth?
As Patient Coordinator, I’m the first point of contact for patients who are curious about joining a clinical trial. I make sure they understand the process, answer their questions, and help them feel comfortable every step of the way.
My goal is to make what can feel like an overwhelming experience as simple and stress-free as possible.
If someone shadowed you for a day, what would surprise them most about your job?
If someone were to shadow me, they’d get good insight on how I can connect with people. I feel that it’s my greatest strength, and I take pride in the fact that others feel comfortable talking to me.
Clinical research will always have its risk vs. benefit factors, and in most cases I deal with folks who have never been a part of something like it before.
In most cases I talk with folks who have never been a part of clinical trials. I’m glad to know I’ve helped others take a leap of faith, advancing medicine and finding access to care!
What’s a moment in your role that gives you a “this is why I do this” feeling?
When a patient speaks with me, I’m their first introduction to the study they’re intrigued about. I know it’s my job to get people through the door, but overall, it feels good to know that I was a part of their story.
Maybe that person exhausted all their options, maybe they have a family that wants to see them well, or maybe I helped point them in the right direction for recovery. I have plenty of different interactions, but knowing I was their first step feels good.

How do you relax and re-energize outside of work?
The photo above was from a Botanical Garden in Florida Called Leu Gardens! It’s a very special place to spend time enjoying beautiful flowers, find hidden fairy houses, and see some butterflies.
I like to step away from screens and switch gears completely. Cooking and baking have become my go-to outlets. I love creating pastries, trying out new entrées, and even mixing cocktails for friends and family.
It’s a fun way to unwind, be creative, and make time feel intentional instead of just scrolling.
What’s something you’ve learned at 1nHealth that you think everyone should know—whether they work here or not?
I’ve learned that there are companies out there that will bet on you because they believe in you. They aren’t afraid to make mistakes, and use them to as a motivator to become better.
In the past, I’ve worked with people who put me on thin ice for the smallest errors. This field is new to me, and I’ve grown so much because I’ve been given the chance to learn from peers who love teaching as much as I love learning. I’m truly grateful for that.
