Employee Spotlight: Tia Wieden, Project Manager

We’re spotlighting the most important part of our work here at 1nHealth—our team. These are the folks who bring the energy, the ideas, and the spark to everything we do.

Up today: Tia Wieden, one of our Project Managers—who makes multitasking look like an Olympic sport. She aligns team efforts, keeps a close eye on study progress, and makes sure all deliverables are completed on time.

Discover the most fulfilling aspect of Tia’s job, what might surprise you about her day-to-day, and much more.

What's your current role at 1nHealth?

As one of the Project Managers at 1nHealth, I’m part of the team that keeps studies running smoothly—from startup tasks and team coordination to tracking milestones and making sure everything stays on schedule. We also meet weekly with sites and sponsors to go over metrics and flag any potential issues early.

If someone shadowed you for a day, what would surprise them most about your job?

If someone shadowed me, they’d probably be surprised by how many hats Project Managers wear on a daily basis. From responding to client needs and ensuring consistent study operations to coordinating internal processes, this role requires constant multitasking, adaptability, and problem-solving.

What’s a moment in your role that gives you a “this is why I do this” feeling?

I know it sounds a little cheesy, but I get to experience this feeling every day! Making patient care more accessible has always been a passion of mine. This industry is constantly growing and evolving, but the mission stays the same—connecting patients with treatments they need and often didn’t know were available to them. And because I get to play a hands-on role in that connection, I truly feel like I’m making a difference in their lives.

How do you relax and re-energize outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring (easy) walking and hiking trails near the water in my city. It’s relaxing to be outdoors, helping me unwind and recharge while enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

What’s the most satisfying problem you’ve gotten to solve lately?

In a recent study, we noticed that referrals weren’t quite matching sponsor expectations. But because we’re consistently meeting with sites and asking for honest feedback, we were already in the process of addressing the issue before it became a bigger problem. We adjusted our campaign quickly, collaborated with the sites on some new ways to follow up and keep patients engaged, and saw a huge improvement in both referral quality and site satisfaction.

This sense of collaboration and knowing that we have each other’s backs is such a rewarding experience. We mean it when we say we truly want to receive feedback from sites—because it’s the only way we can adapt, improve, and ultimately deliver the best possible experience for both sites and patients.

What’s something you’ve learned at 1nHealth that you think everyone should know—whether they work here or not?

For the most part, anyone can learn new roles, even if you don’t have a background in it. It’s all about your willingness to learn and grow. Also, company culture has such a BIG impact on your mental health, and here at 1nHealth it’s truly amazing. We all pull our own weight, working together to own enrollment!
